Twitter upgrades search autocomplete and many more
Twitter announced some updates to its search function which autocomplete with automated spell check, related results relevant to the search query, and show both real names and Twitter handles for each search.
Search autocomplete works by splitting into keywords and people, shows you the most relevant Tweets, articles, accounts, images and videos for your query. After completing the search, Twitter has added a new filter to the tweet results. In addition to being able to see “top” or “all” tweets, users can now see tweets from “People you follow.” This is a very welcome filter that you’ll use a lot when looking for a tweet from your stream that’s a day or three old.
That is Instead of having to type complete words or sentences in the search field, the new autocomplete feature will help you with that once you enter the first few letters of your search term.
The next feature includes a better search understanding for related terms, hashtags and account searching. According to Li:
“If you search for a topic for which people use multiple terms. We will provide relevant suggestions for terms where the majority of that conversation is happening on “
Do you think Twitter’s new search features are useful for your own search needs?
